JONGHYUN BECOMES 1ST MEMBER OF SHINEE TO TOP BILLBOARD CHART WITH SOLO ALBUM

Jonghyun has topped the Billboard World Albums chart for the first time, as a solo artist.

Jonghyun’s first solo album, "Base," was revealed through iTunes. On Thursday, his album earned the number one spot on Billboard’s World Album Chart.

"Last week, his album was seen at number two on the World Album Chart and this week he was seen at the number one spot, making it the first K-pop album to top this chart for 2015," read the Billboard article.

"He is the first member out of SHINee to top this chart." 

Jonghyun is a singer known for his ballads. Yet his new solo album features a more R&B and even disco sound. 

"Base" has also topped the music charts in Korea as well as Taiwan’s Five Music Korea-Japan chart, Japan’s iTunes album chart along with several other pop charts around Asia.
